Truth. Experience. Results.

These three words are at the heart of my campaign because they represent the values I have worked my entire life to uphold.

For more than three decades, I’ve represented New Hampshire families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations as an attorney, leader, and trusted advisor.

I’ve built my career here, raised my family in the community I love, and dedicated my time to serving others.

At a time when trust in government matters more than ever, New Hampshire needs leaders who value truth, bring experience to the table, and deliver results.

About

I’m a New Hampshire native. I was born in Manchester, raised in Bedford, and attended Bedford public schools before graduating from Manchester West High School. I left New Hampshire to attend Columbia University in New York City, then earned my law degree from the University of Maine School of Law. In 1993, I returned home to NH for good to marry my wife of more than 32 years, Lois, another Bedford native. Together, we've raised two wonderful children.

For more than 30 years, I've built my legal career serving New Hampshire families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. I've practiced in my own firm, as a shareholder and director at Orr & Reno, P.A., and today as Managing Partner of Upton & Hatfield, LLP. I've had the privilege of representing clients from every walk of life, from small family businesses to some of New Hampshire's most recognizable organizations. Every one of them has mattered.

For eight years, I served as State Director of AARP New Hampshire, advocating for more than 225,000 Granite State members and helping advance policies that support older adults and strengthen our communities.

Giving back has always been important to me. I've coached youth sports, led Scouts, served on numerous nonprofit boards, and been appointed to both a local Zoning Board of Adjustment and a statewide board.

I'm also a music minister at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord, where I sing and play acoustic guitar at Mass. Faith and reason have always guided my life and my work. They remind me that listening, serving, and bringing people together matter more than partisanship.

I'm a Granite Stater, a proven leader, and someone who came from humble beginnings. My life has been shaped by hard work and by the opportunities others gave me, from the teachers who believed in me as a student to the clients who entrusted me with their most important challenges.

I know New Hampshire. I know its people, its opportunities, and its challenges. And I believe our best days are still ahead.

Priorities

Growing a Strong NH Economy

I will advance policies that support NH businesses and nonprofits, lower costs, attract and retain workers, expand housing options, and promote responsible policies that protect our state’s character, traditions, and advantages.

I believe we must:

  1. Work to address New Hampshire's housing shortage by preserving local control while encouraging innovative housing policies and responsible development that expands housing opportunities, protects open space, and reflects the character and values of New Hampshire communities.

  2. Ensure businesses and consumers have access to reliable, high-quality, and affordable energy by advancing data-driven, forward-looking energy policies. Evaluate both current needs and the long-term impact on future generations while embracing proven technologies and innovation to reduce costs, strengthen energy reliability, and prepare for tomorrow's energy challenges.

Protecting Our Environment & Building Our Energy Future

I will support smart growth, preserve our open spaces, and advance practical energy policies that deliver reliable, affordable energy through innovation and efficiency while preserving the beauty of NH for future generations.

Ensuring Accountability & Responsible Government

I will fight for responsible use of taxpayer dollars, greater transparency, and data-driven policymaking that asks the tough questions, identifies waste, and ensures NH’s fiscal policies remain fair and effective.

I will support independent studies and commissions to identify lost revenue, evaluate whether New Hampshire's tax policies remain fair and competitive, and provide lawmakers and voters with objective data on issues such as the role and impact of high-value second homes on our communities and tax system and the impacts of our trust laws.

Good policy starts with asking tough questions, relying on facts rather than assumptions, and providing transparent information so voters can make informed decisions.

Supporting Seniors, People with Disabilities, Caregivers & Families

I will strengthen support for seniors, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families by investing in the services and resources that help all Granite Staters live safely, independently, and with dignity.

As New Hampshire's population continues to age, the demand for long-term care and family caregiving will only grow. Nearly one in eight Granite Staters lives with a disability, making it essential that we invest in the services and workforce that help people remain safe, independent, and engaged in their communities.
